I've seen No Country several times in thater and cant wait to own the DVD, it's really a great movie. Those Oscars were well earned
Do people really watch the movies over and over again that they buy?
We have bought a few movies for the kids because they do watch them repeatedly (most watched:Lord of the Rings trilogy), but for the most part, I never watch a movie twice unless it's on TV and there's nothing on (only one or 2 exceptions to this).
So am I just easily bored or really, do people out there watch the movies from their collections? Or do they just collect to have a collection?
Very few movies will i watch more than once, but theres a few. No country, the shrek movies, actually, mainly good animated movies and solid action flicks. With 4 kids i end up seeinf pretty much all kids movies multiple times but that dont count. LOL
How about a celebration / promotion involving independent films? Perhaps around July 4th? Indie Day? Okay, I just checked the calendar. July 2nd is a Tuesday, new release day.
Just a thought.
Got the idea from reading the previous posts regarding viewing movies multiple times. The one I tend to watch over and over is a far cry from an "indie" flick but it has independence in the title: Independence Day!
Owning that dvd is like owning a season pass to a theme park. You might not go everyday but it's nice to have that option. It's also a good idea to have a movie like that to flex your home theatre's muscles once in a while.
Hey Susan, up for a challenge? Change the way all movies are packaged to get rid of that horrible plastic box, the plastic wrap and those annoying double or triple security strips on the edges of the case. Convince all the movie studios to package their movies in the same manner as An Inconvenient Truth. It'll save us tons of space for those of us who buy lots of movies, and reduce the packaging and space wasted in the stores.
By the way, why are so many of our stores jam packed with TONS of DVD's? Store 1 has like 4-6 pallets of various movies at any one time. How's your inventory position?
What are the April new releases?
