Now that the election is over, we can start to think about Christmas!!!! There are now 51 days left which sounds like a lot of time but it always goes by too fast. Now is the time to start thinking about those you love and those you like; those who have been naughty and those that have been nice; and begin to formulate your Christmas List and shopping strategy. As merchants, we have been working extremely hard finding ways we can help customers save money this holiday season.

Take Blu-ray players for example. Everyone’s looking for price specials here. As of today, in stores now, you can buy a Magnavox Blu-ray player at our store for $198 – and that’s an every day! This is rolled rolled back from $229. No gimmicks or rebates, just a great Blu-ray player for under $200 everyday!!!!

We didn’t stop there. This Saturday, November 8th at 8:00 am there will be an event at our stores with some truly unbeatable prices on electronics. Here are some of the hot deals:

Compaq Laptop, 2GB RAM, 160GB Hard Drive, 15.4” Screen, Vista Basic for $298

Sanyo 46” 1080p LCD TV for $798

Sony 2GB MP3 Player for $49

Buy a Sony Playstation 3 for $399 and get a $100 Walmart gift card or buy a Sony Playstation 2 for $129 and get a $30 Walmart gift card

Buy a Sony PSP with Ratchet and Clank Game for $199 and get a $30 Walmart gift card

Check out our website for all the details and items!!

Now that you have the inside scoop, I have a feeling we might be seeing some of you spend your Saturday morning with us!!

Hello:

I saw ad about the laptop and called a couple of stores in my area. They know nothing about the sale. Is this some big secret to the stores - they really sounded confused.  What gives?

I just called my WalMart store here in Wisconsin and they cannot tell me what the price for the laptop will be on Saturday.  As anyone can see on the page where it is advertized it says prices may vary in Wisconsin and two other places.  Why can't they tell me before Saturday what the price will be?  It would be nice if we could know before we went out to buy this  instead of having to wait until the day. I guess not all WalMart stores have informed clerks working for them.

It's a secret sale... only advertised online and even secret, as I

found out, to most of the employees! I did get a laptop, but I saw many customers trying to purchase other items listed in the ad and the store couldn't get them to ring up properly. The PlayStation 3 with the free $100 gift card was one example. They were still trying to get it to ring up correctly when I left. They didn't have a complete list in-store of the items on sale. I was trying to get a couple of the Nintendo DS-Lite w/2 games and choice of accessory pack, but they weren't aware of it. I went back home to look the ad up and it's no longer online as far as I can tell. The whole idea of a secret sale was poorly executed. I hope they do it better if they plan another one this season!

My teenaged boys have a den we are redoing upstairs and they want a large LCD TV...we have shopped everywhere and the Sanyo 46 for $798 is by far leadership pricing. I hope the deal is still on.......we can throw in a Playstation 3 for what one TV would have cost at Best Buy, and thats the exact amount.

Ryan - Thanks for the headsup on the special electronics sale. I got to my local Wal*Mart before 8:00 AM with the intent of buying two Compaq laptops for family members. There were only a few people in line at the Electronics Dept. I asked the cashier for 2 laptops. She said there is only one per customer. As the online ad had no restrictions I asked to speak to the store manager who never arrived. In the meantime I heard an associate tell another customer that the 46" Sanyo HDTV sets had sold out at midnight. The sale wasn't supposed to start until 8:00AM!

Ryan I hope Wal*Mart has more of these internet special events. However, your store managers must be instructed to play by the rules set by the buyers in Bentonville.

The Wal-Mart here in Derby, KS had everything was looking for and I was able to start my Christmas shopping early! I stood in line for 45 minutes; I got what I wanted, and there seemed to be enough to go around, it was worth it the wait. If your Wal-Mart isn't serving your needs... kudos to the Derby store!

Looking to see if there will be another secret sale this week (11/15)?

I waited in line at the Grove City, OH store last week for 2 hours to buy a laptop only to be turned away as they sold out.  Very dissapointed and the feedback from the workers was lacking as they did not have details.  The Managers were accomodating yet were behind the counter most of the time.

The deals were wonderful, I should have arrived earlier and want to be prepared if there is another sale planned.

Thanks!

Jenny

I found about the sale minutes before it started and was able to make it to my local Walmart store in time to take advantage of the sale.  Unfortunately, I was unable to buy all the items I intended to purchase.  For example, the laptop computers were sold out shortly after 8:00am.  Will another sale take place prior to Black Friday, if so when?

finally, SUCCESS! My teenaged boys identified the Polaroid 42 inch 1080 as the best Black Friday deal on the planet @  $598.98 so we got a good night's sleep and venured out early to store #1148. I thought we would be the only people there (I have not done this Black Friday trip ever before) so I was shocked when we arrived and there was nowhere to park at 4:45 a.m. I let my worried young athletes out to find our HDTV and found a parking spot. I have never seen #1148 so crowded, the electronics dept and everywhere near it was packed and the store was full of shoppers  with all size TV's, Blue Rays, and a 28 piece Rubbermaid storage set filling their buggies...people were buying everything electronic and I figured we missed out on the 42 inch dream deal....when out of nowhere popped my proud savvy shopper sons with the 42 inch TV in their cart. Along the way, we grabbed a $49 portable DVD player ("why not?") and the ubiquitious Rubbermard storage set (Mom gets something, too) on a ravaged pallet. Unfortunately, we couldnt get near the Blue Ray players, but gosh, we got what we came for so we can find one later. When I dropped them off I had reservations about whether they could even find their way around a wal-mart...little did I know, the supercenter manager was handing out store maps to everyone who entered, showing the location of all the 5 am treasures, since they had to be spread out for crowd control. What a trip.

So, our search was over and we were nestled snug back in bed by 5:30 am and after a month of looking at every ad out there, includeing yesterdays, we are satisfied we got the best deal available on a brand name we trust. An Early Christmas giftfor the boys in time for lots of great upcoming football games.

Ryan, your electronics team is at least $200, more like $300 cheaper than anyone else  today on a 42 inch 1080 name brand. Good Work , Thank You for putting us customers first, and Happy Holidays.
