What a great time to be a gamer! There is so much launching this month and the next, it really becomes a question of how to best spend our time and money. So many choices and they all look great. May need to take a little vacation to get through all of this.

That said, I would like to add to this excitement by throwing in a little something that we have been working on. We have LOTS more coming, and we have been busy putting together deals with our valued suppliers to ensure that the holiday season starts off and finishes right for you, our Members. You have not seen a lot of blogs from the Sam's Gaming team recently as we have been busy ensuring we have done all of the proper work to make it seamless for our Members. We know you want your holiday to be special, and we want to be the place you choose to satisfy your needs.

Without any additional delay, Sam's Club will be the only physical retailer in the nation with this special bundle that is sure to create new gamers out there.

So what is all here and why am I blogging about this? Well, it is a special bundle we were able to put to gether with the good folks at Microsoft. It contains an Xbox 360 PRO, Lego Indiana Jones, Kung Fu Panda and Guitar Hero III INCLUDING the guitar! We are going to have this across the nation and on our website by Mid November. This bundle, suitable for new or existing gamers sell at Sam's Club for $349.00. That is not a typo, Three Hundred Forty Nine Dollars. As you know, the Pro alone typically retails for $299 at most other retailers. Do the math, this is pretty slick.

It really pays to have a Membership at Sam's Club. There is so much more coming in gaming very soon. We have lots to fill you in on. So, stay tuned.

What are you looking for this holiday?

How does this value stack up for a new gamer?

Speaking of gaming values.  Why don't we see more lower priced gaming acessories?  Same places have Wii stuff (bat, tennis racket) for like $5 each.  At WALMART you have to buy this whole kit plus its NERF and that seems grade school.  My friend bought a controller for way under $10 at some dollar store.  Gotta be thinking about us out here, times are tough!!!

Hmm, $349.00, isn't it pretty expensive? LOL!

I'm sure these things will smoke the stores!

Thanks for posting this early!

considering the economy at the present stage Walmart would have more gaming value customers if they brought back their lay-away plan with fees if necessary

Mike - At Sam's Club, we carry the NERF item. We could have sourced a lower quality item, but that is not what we do for Members. We really work to place quality in the 1st position.

Johnny - Thanks. It's not early, it is an exclusive, so we can talk about it now!! Enjoy!!

Shorty - Do not think Sam's has lay-away. Do not believe it is something we are looking at implementing. Thanks!

Joe,

How does Sam's Club decide which two games to bundle with the system? I am interested in buying this for my younger cousins, but I have no idea if these two games are something they'd like. I'm not up to speed on the latest stuff. They are are boy and a girl, ages 9 and 6. It looks like this is a good deal. Dell is selling the console and the two games for $299, but then the Guitar Hero game and guitar bundle is another $100!

Thanks Traci. We work with our good partners at Microsoft when working on these bundle. If you are not sure if they would like the games, check a few things. The ESRB puts ratings on games so you can see if the content is age appropriate (kinda like a movie rating). It does not tell you if the game is fun complicated, enjoyable but just if it is age appropriate.

In addition, there are some great gaming sites like Joystiq, Kotaku, Destructoid and IGN where you can get reviews of the games. Sam's Club's website also allows Members to review items on-line so you can see what other folks think as well. Ultimately, everything is a guideline and the final decision is yours as the consumer. Let me know if that helps.
