Well, it is about 1:30 pm Vegas time and it has been a busy one so far. I am typing this in one of the convention center's overpriced eateries, literally from the floor. I say literally, because there is not an open chair. I am sitting on the carpet, but I am not the only one. CES is not for the faint of heart. So minus one laptop, live from the floor via iPhone and Treo, here is my report to you.
The day began early enough. I boarded a shuttle bus from the hotel at around 7:00 am and grabbed a yogurt and a water. It was $5.00. Ok, I know I am not in Bentonville anymore, but don't you people make enough off of gamblers? I was able to get on the floor by 8:00 am not realizing until much later that I should not have been on until 10:00. Realizing my good fortune, I got some alone time with some suppliers. No turning back now. Here is Sharp's 108 inch LCD TV.

Wow, it is huge and really a clear picture. Over at Sony, I was in heaven. Before the aforementioned 10:00, I had it covered. I got to play God of War II on a PSP, made a call using Skype on a PSP and got to play Metal Gear Solid 4 using a dual shock controller on a PS3. Not bad, before the show officially started.

One concept of note is 3-D television. I will make a prediction that this will be big. If gaming companies do this right, it should not be an aftermarket accessory. They need to send one standard and make it come with their new consoles (ps4, x-box 720, son of wii etc...). As an accessory, the market will be fragmented. Philips, Texas Instruments and Samsung were all making a big deal about it. There is an opportunity here to make the experience even more immersive.
What do you think the new, emerging technologies will be that shape our experiences? With 3D technology and super capacitors to make the wireless experience better, we can see a clear path to some incredible futures. That is all for now.
