During this time of year, I seem to develop a minor obsession over all things Christmas. Christmas music (anything but country, please), decorations, going home to eat my mom's Christmas cookies, and especially Christmas movies.
You can't beat the classics: A Christmas Story, Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life. I tear up a little every time I watch all of George Bailey's neighbors streaming into his house to give him their pocket change while belting out Auld Lang Syne. My all time hands down favorite though is Irving Berlin's White Christmas. The music, the dancing, the all star cast, the campy humor! I am probably the worst person to watch the movie with, as when I'm not quoting every line or singing along in the wrong key, I will be dancing around the room to the numerous musical numbers sprinkled throughout. And let me embarass myself further by adding that most of my dancing is fairly close to the actual choreography. That's how many times I've seen it.
Nothing can beat that warm feeling that Christmas brings and good ol' Bing just brings it to another level. What do you entertain yourself with on the cold Christmas days?
